Alexander seeks improvement

Mon 13 Jul, 12:06 PM

Macclesfield boss Keith Alexander admitted his side have plenty to work to do after they were held to a goalless draw by Corby Town on Saturday.

Chances were at a premium at the Rockingham Triangle and debutant Ben Wright went the closest for Town, having a goal ruled out for offside.

Alexander said: "In the first 45 I thought we looked very good. We had a few lads passing the ball very well, better than we have been doing.

"In the second half I think we struggled to get into the game a bit. They kept a lot of players on who had a bit about them.

"But it was the first match action for the lads and the first time a lot of them have ever played together. So all in all there was some things to be pleased about and a few things we need to work on."
