Burton have taken former Stoke winger Jimmy Phillips on trial.

The 19-year-old has been training with the Football League newcomers and played in Saturday`s pre-season friendly defeat to Derby.

Brewers boss Paul Peschisolido said: "In training he has been fantastic - twisting and turning people and leaving some of the lads in knots.

"Jimmy's not the biggest of lads but he runs up and down and shows aggression. He may not be big but he is big-hearted and that is just the kind of player we want to see at the club. He looks fantastic and he gives me food for thought."
