Double deal falls through

Mon 13 Jul, 04:51 PM

Ipswich manager Roy Keane has confirmed that a deal to bring in two unnamed players to Portman Road has collapsed.

Keane revealed last week that he had agreed fees for two players who were expected to sign this week but the moves are both now off.

Sunderland duo Dean Whitehead and Daryl Murphy had been widely reported to be the players in question but Keane is now set to look into fresh targets.

He told the club's official website: "We did have two players in mind to bring to the club and we were hopeful something could be sorted.

"But that has not come to fruition.

"We will now look elsewhere and I have already identified other targets."
