Preston manager Alan Irvine has confirmed that Norwich have made an enquiry about winger Simon Whaley.
Whaley has fallen down the pecking order at Deepdale since Irvine took charge and spent a month on loan at Barnsley last season.
The former Bury winger was left out of the squad which played Hallein FC on Saturday and will not play in either of the club's friendlies on Tuesday night.
