Rams in for Palace target

Mon 13 Jul, 12:49 PM

Derby are keen to sign Crystal Palace target Patrick Kisnorbo.

The 28-year-old, who trained with the Eagles last week and played in the pre-season friendly victory over Borehamwood, is a free agent after being released by Championship rivals Leicester.

He was invited to play in Derby's friendly fixture at Burton on Saturday and, after impressing Rams boss Nigel Clough, is set for talks with the East Midlands club.

"We were very pleased with what we saw from Patrick for around an hour. It is well documented that centre-half is a position we are looking to improve and he may well be an improvement on what we have got," said Clough.

"He has got Championship experience and although he is not 6ft 3in or 6ft 4in, he competes well and he can play full-back as well, so it covers us in that position. We will sit down and have a chat with him."

  3. It is likely Kisborbo is indeed going to end up with Derby now. So its official - Palace cannot compete with anyone now when it comes to signing decent prospects!
