Scunthorpe have revealed midfielder Sam Togwell is recovering from a hernia operation.

The former Barnsley man did not feature in Saturday's 2-1 win at Bottesford Town, but could feature in one of the Iron's three pre-season games this week.

Garry Thompson also underwent a hernia operation before pre-season commenced and played in the second half of Saturday's victory.

Striker Gary Hooper was also sidelined for Saturday's friendly as he is suffering with blisters.
