The final reaction from the big-name players at the US PGA Championships at Southern Hills.
Tiger Woods after winning his 13th major by two shots: "I made a mess of it there on 14. Woody was playing well and Ernie Els was making a move and I just knew I needed somehow to bear down. When I got to the 15th tee, I said: 'All right, you've got yourself into this mess, now earn your way out of it. And I made a birdie there at 15, which was huge."
Ernie Els after a promising front nine that put him in contention for the title: "I made a lot of putts today but I missed one on nine and one on 11 and that probably cost me.I'm still not quite where I want to be but I'm getting there. If I get up to that next level where I want to be, maybe I can at least give him (Woods) a real go, a run for his money. Somebody needs to step up; he's playing some awesome golf."
Brit Simon Dyson after shooting a final round 64 to leap from joint 44th to joint 6th on the final day: "I put my clubs away for two weeks, didn't touch them, didn't do anything, really. Just carried on going to the gym. Had a few nights out with my mates and took my girlfriend away for a couple of days. Then as soon as I came back, just started practicing again and carried on at the gym. After two weeks off, actually felt pretty good. And then flew out here and it still felt good. To finish in the top-10 in the US PGA, which is the top 100 players in the world, it's something I'll savour for a long time unless I do something better the next couple of years."
American journeyman Woody Austin on his enthusiastic approach towards the gallery during second-place performance: "I wanted to hear them. I wanted to hear it. You always hear it for him (Tiger). So I wanted them to keep yelling for me. I wanted him to know that there was somebody else out there. I wanted him to understand that there was somebody else that was trying to make a move. I don't think anybody plays any better than I do when I'm on. I know that's crazy, but I think I can hit any shot anybody in the world can hit. But it's hard to do that when you're afraid of it, and that's the fight I have every day."
