Serie A - Roma in, Kalac out at Milan

Eurosport - Thu, 13 Aug 10:16:00 2009

Milan have signed Italian goalkeeper Flavio Roma from Monaco on a one-year deal, while letting Australian keeper Zeljko Kalac go.

FOOTBALL 2006-2007 Monaco - Flavio Roma - 0

"Milan thank Kalac for what he did during his time at the club and wish him the best for the future," said a statement on the club website, adding that the contract had been cancelled by mutual consent.

Kalac joined Milan in 2005 but he was rarely their first choice option.

Milan have three other keepers on their books, but only Marco Storari is fully fit, with Dida and Christian Abbiati both fighting to recover from injury.

  5. Good for Flavio but this is mindless. Kalac was pretty rubbish but at least he was rubbish on an unwavering scale. Dida has been phenomenally poor and his wages are far higher - if Flavio Roma is replacing any reserve keeper at Milan, it should be Dida the diver
