Tigers to reveal new signings

Hull have called a press conference for Thursday afternoon when it is expected they will announce the signings of Stephen Hunt and Kamel Ghilas.

Reading confirmed earlier this week they had agreed an undisclosed fee for the transfer of Republic of Ireland winger Hunt. The 28-year-old is thought to have discussed terms with the Tigers before linking up with his international team-mates for Wednesday night's friendly against Australia.

Celta Vigo striker Ghilas has also been heavily linked with a move to the KC Stadium in recent days. The 25-year-old Algeria international, a former Blackburn target, has also played previously for Cannes and Vitoria Guimaraes.

The pair will take Hull's number of summer signings to four following the captures of Seyi Olofinjana and Jozy Altidore last week.

Manager Phil Brown had previously endured a frustrating close season in the transfer market with moves for players including Michael Owen, Fraizer Campbell, Marc-Antoine Fortune, Daryl Murphy and Habib Beye falling through.

  1. I'm impressed by these new signings...Altidore sounds much better than getting Bobby Zamora. I'm bit unsure bout this Real Madrid guy they are looking at as I have no idea where Hull can have £12m spare unless they are seriously considering selling Turner which would be a disaster as with Ricketts gone we're short on good defenders already. Not sure I agree okpeboycity...Folan is not Premier League standard but Fagan is fantastic and I'm happy with Myhill keeping the number 1 shirt for now...he conceded a lot of goals last season but I wouldn't say he was to blame for 90% of them
