Wigan boss Roberto Martinez was delighted with his side's performance as they beat West Ham 1-0 at the DW Stadium.
Hugo Rodallega's second-half strike earned the Latics their first win since the opening day of the season and eased the pressure on Martinez.
"I'm not relieved, I'm pleased more than anything" he said.
"We knew the task in front of us. West Ham are a team I admire a lot and they have a great combination of experience and youth.
"I knew it was going to be a tough test but I'm very happy with many aspects."
