Taylor unhappy with defending

Wycombe boss Peter Taylor was left to rue a missed opportunity in the 1-1 draw at Hartlepool.

Chances were few and far between in a dull first half but Wycombe took the lead when Scott Beavon drilled a low shot in off the inside of the post.

Hartlepool soon replied as Sam Collins headed on a Neil Austin free-kick for Adam Boyd to volley past Scott Shearer.

"Was it three points lost or one gained?" Taylor asked. "I was really pleased with a point, but we could have had three.

"I asked the players why we are not higher in the division and they all agreed it's because we concede too many goals - again we haven't got set up quickly enough from a set piece. It was poor defending and that's why they levelled.

"It was a good performance, but we let in another very bad goal and I'm amazed we are not alert enough on set pieces from what has happened this season so far."
