A look at how the men in charge reacted to their respective teams' fortunes following the latest round of World Cup qualifiers, with Fabio Capello sticking up for one of his charges.
England 5-1 Kazakhstan
Fabio Capello: "I couldn't understand the crowd booing Ashley Cole after he made a mistake. It is possible for one player to make a mistake. It is very important that the crowd help him and not boo him. But the crowd was very strong for us. After the first half, they helped us a lot.
"We needed a speedy player on the left, and he [substitute Shaun Wright-Phillips] did very well. In the first half we played too quick, tried to get the ball forward immediately and made too many mistakes. In the second half Rooney played nearer Heskey and he played very well. After the first 45 minutes, I was not happy. Kazakhstan had two chances in the match, but it is normal in international matches that opponents have chances to score goals."
Bernd Storck: "We were unlucky with the result but happy about the way we played. In the second half, we did not concentrate for their first goal - and that was a big mistake. Before that, we had a great chance - and if we had scored we would have seen then what might have happened with the England team. But instead they went and scored.
"Our endurance is not so good. We must work a lot in this area. We played good football in the second half but we were tired and we made mistakes. I have a very young team. We are here to learn. I played six players from the under-21s. Four of them made their debut, and I think it was a big success. This is the future for Kazakhstan. It is a good start for the future."
Scotland 0-0 Norway
George Burley: "We had some good opportunities, and if we had got the first goal then we would have won the game. But it didn't happen and 99 times out of 100 Chris would have scored. Afterwards Chris said, 'I should have scored' and he is disappointed but he has shown that he is a goalscorer. His height and strength gave the Norway defence lots of problems and he linked well with Steven Fletcher."
Age Hareide: "I felt we deserved all three points, we had most of the chances. I know that Scotland had a big chance but we had chances in the first half and a couple of chances at the end of the game where John Carew and Steffen Iversen could have sealed the three points for us. From the bench, our goal looked very open for their chance and he must have miscued that ball completely, but that's football sometimes."
Wales 2-0 Liechtenstein
John Toshack: "We will have to be better in Germany. We are very aware of that. The game was as difficult as I expected. But we had chances, scored twice, missed a penalty and fully deserved to win. We were the better side and should have won by a couple more.
"Craig [Bellamy] was confident - he wanted to take it [the penalty]. But their goalkeeper was their best player on the night and made a lot more saves. It seems every goalkeeper who comes to this stadium plays very well. Liechtenstein had a couple of chances - they worried us - but I am pleased we have six points so far.
"We have two massive games now in March at home to Finland and Germany. That is where we will have to pick up some points if we are to qualify. Germany away is a completely different type of game for us. We go there with the knowledge that we have six points, although we know we do need to get something from a couple of away games if we are to be competitive in this group."
Hans-Peter Zaugg: "We have no argument with the result. Wales were the best side and we are just pleased to have kept the score to 1-0 for so long. We are disappointed. Some of my players did not play to their best - and for us to achieve anything at international level, every one of our players must be at the peak of their form - all the time.
"We may have had a penalty before they scored, but once that happened it was always difficult. I told our strikers at half-time they must do more, be more cheeky in possession to try something different. But we did not win even one free-kick, and that says a lot about what we were lacking up front. We lost a lot of silly possession, and you are punished when that happens."
Slovenia 2-0 Northern Ireland
Nigel Worthington: "I thought the players were superb with their energy and commitment. We played some good football and showed a tremendous work ethic, but the rub of the green is not with us. We have got to make things happen.
"It is clear we are playing catch-up in the group, but I can see a lot of 'positives'. We created some decent chances - and if we can start taking them, we will pick up points. We have played three games, conceded four goals - but Maik Taylor has not had a save to make."

Booing ur own player, no wonder england struggle at times, there should be confidence from the fans in their own players, england have the best young squad in years, and a manager capable of winning them something for a change. england fans wise up and get behind the players and silverware will follow
England pass the ball back to the keeper way too much, in fact it should never be done if you have a decent defence and formation.
Sign of a week team, the abll should always go forward towards the opposite goal that is the aim of the game, not rocket science.
Ashley Coles saved england plenty of times and theres not much doubt hes one of the best left backs in the world (according to Mourinho) but he does deserve to be booed for that mistake, wake him up a little...same with Upson if in doubt kick it out!
Not if he sets up the other team with and inch perfect pass in on goal!
Booing your own player is RUBBISH
well said, i totally agree!
please tell me the difference between international eurosport and UK-based eurosport. I don't see any difference. it is all about UK. could you provide a more balanced coverage? it is only the comment of coahces from UK teams.
