Patrick Vieira has ruled out a return to former club Arsenal in the January transfer window.
The former Gunners captain, who won three Premier League titles during his nine-year stay in North London, has confirmed that he will remain with Serie A champions Internazionale until his contract expires at the end of the season.
However, Vieira revealed that he does plan to leave Serie A, where he has won the league title with the Nerazzurri in each of his three full seasons at the club, either for a return to the England or France.
Recent reports had linked the 33-year-old with a return to Arsenal as well as their local rivals Tottenham Hotspur and French club Paris Saint Germain in the January transfer window as he looks for regular football in the build-up to next summer's World Cup in South Africa.
"I want to play more, but I also want to respect my contract," Vieira said.
"Nothing will happen in January. But I will leave Inter in June and I have yet to make up my mind over whether to play in the Premier League or in the French league."
Vieira joined Arsenal from Milan as a 20-year-old and became an integral part of the most successful era in the club's history, winning two league and cup doubles and completing the 2003-04 campaign without losing a league match.
After years of being courted by Real Madrid, he eventually chose Italy and moved to Juventus for £13.7 million in the summer of 2005.
Despite winning the league in his debut season, Vieira left for Inter when Juve had their Serie A crown revoked and were relegated in the fallout of the 'Calciopoli' match-fixing scandal.
Since moving to the city of Milan, Vieira has struggled with injuries, and has only appeared in more than half of Inter's league matches during a season once.

Viera is entering his final years as a player and the fact that he is playing very little first team soccer must be a discouragement for a potential buyer.
David W or whatever you are called; I think you are blind or have short memory. The man "Patric" deserve a bit more respect for calling him too old etc.. Unless you are not arsenal supporter. Patric has giving so much to arsenal in the past years. Nobody can question that.
Cant believe what ive just read there!!!
Who in there right mind wants him???
Too old, too slow, doesnt score, and was past it when wenger got shot of him 3-4 years ago.
He has been injured constantly for 3 years and is a shadow of the player we saw 10 years ago. I watched him a few times, and trust me no-one really wants or needs him.
Im a wolves fan and id hit the roof if i heard we were going for him.
Our leagues are just to quick for you old man, dont even think your self in the same league as a makalele who had an impact at that sort of age. He was twice the player.
Your finished mate, go off to the states or the arabs and earn a fortune.
