  1. This incident somes up everything about Drogba. Really gifted player but one of if not the biggest C**T of the premiership. A player should always want to celebrate with and infront his teams supporters. There was no need to run to the Burnley corner & celebrate right infront of them. Of course this was always going to wind them up & get a hostile reaction. He should get the same punishment as Carragher did against Arsenal if not worse because unlike Carragher, Drogba started it & he needs to realise he's got big issues with his lack integrity & the premiership has no time for it.

  2. I have read all the comments here tonight and many should be congratulated on putting forward different points of view, no matter whether they might be acted upon by the FA or not. Some good humoured stuff as well thanks. What we do not need in this site sorry are the usual hate messages about the individual from other supporters, and up the reds/blues and if he was Joey Barton etc. The coin throwing incident is a serious matter as is all the other stuff some of the boys have raised about the way crowds of yobs react in certain matches, particularly local derbies. This will never be stamped out but the authorities have got to do something so that the vast majority of football fans can go to the matches and just enjoy the spectacle because this is a great game

  3. The police are just jobless lots. They should all get a proper job to earn their leaving.

  4. Drogba is an embarrasment to the English game. His constant diving, whinging and moaning are boring and have no place in football. The coin shoud have been a house brick and should have hit him squarely in the face.

  5. Hey people, the sunderland 'fans' bombarded the Newcastle United fans (many of whom were women and children) with coins (amongst other things, including bucket-loads of spit), resulting in quite a few injuries.
Why was NOTHING done about this?
Yet here is Drogba, hardly 'flinging' a coin back to where it came from, and suddenly the Met's top brass are on the case and the whole nation wants their customary pound of flesh - most of whom won't even have seen the incident!!!!
    Something wrong somewhere me thinks.

  6. Drogba did right to throw the coin back as the poor fan needed it for his bus fare home maybe?
I think that Drogba was also asking the fan if it was only the one coin by showing one finger? Maybe the poor fan needed more coins to get home. Drogba was being very thoughtfull.
Comon lets face it - Burnley people are not well off like Chelsea people are and every penny adds up! I am sure the fan did not mean to throw his benefits cash onto the pitch.
Let the Police investigate this, it is very important and much more important than investigating real crimes, but maybe they do not have any in London?
I suppose they could get some CSO's to look into the incident if there are no officers capable. After all it seems to be only CSO's that one sees on the beat these days!

  10. drogba should be banned for at least 3 games. however the burnly fans instergated the problem with the throwing of objects. There for burnly fc should have a ban on their away support, for the same amount of time. This needs to stop. Fans need to grow up. Stop throwing objects, then moaning about a player reacting. up the hammers

  11. Yes, the finger was wrong, but returning an item from whence it came, is that wrong, no, that is manners.

And Yes, Burnley Fans should face the same penalty, if not more, TAMPERING WITH A FA GAME?.

No, I am not a Chelsea fan, quite the opposite, but when are the police and and FA going to start to penalise the teams, with the bad fans, to pull the fans into line as they are attempting to do with the game itself.

  12. If Drogba is ban for three matches, then the fans should also be ban for three match as well. Because players do not come into the soccer pitch with coins, but the fans do. Enough of racial abuses.

  15. Drogba's actions were a disgrace, deserving of a 3 match ban, and enrolment on a course for good manners.

  17. Didn't "The Special One" hurl his winners medal from the cup final into the crowd? Don't remember any outrage at that - probably more people hurt in the crush to get it than Drogba could hit with a tennis racket and the entire contents of Joe Kinnears swear box.

Perhaps if he wishes to avoid something similar happening again he could go and play in the SPL.
