Piquet GP's Roldan Rodriguez clocked a best time of one minute and 27.038 seconds to top the final day of GP2 Series testing at Paul Ricard in France.

On a consistently wet circuit, the drivers had to be careful and were interrupted by regular red flags, one of which closed the final testing session of 2008.

Dams's Kamui Kobayashi came second with a time of 1:27.259, almost half a second clear of Campos's Vitaly Petrov in third.

Three rookies - Luiz Razia (ART), Dani Clos (Racing Engineering) and Julien Jousse (FMS) made up the top six.

Karun Chandhok (iSport) finished seventh ahead of team-mate Mike Conway, Nico Hulkenberg (ART) and Sergio Perez (Piquet).

The next test session will take place at Paul Ricard from March 11-13, 2009.

The GP2 tour will now fly to Dubai for the second round of the GP2 Asia Series which will take place on December 5 and 6.
