Queensland Roar coach Frank Farina believes Craig Moore's positive attitude will help the defender make a full recovery from testicular cancer.
The 32-year-old Australia international underwent surgery on Tuesday after receiving the diagnosis last week but Farina is certain the former Rangers and Newcastle star's resilience will see him overcome the illness.
"He's in pretty good spirits," said Farina. "From last week when he got the news he's been super positive.
"I think his first question to the doctor was 'when can I play football again?'
"He'll fight this and I know his character and he'll get through it.
"He's talking about playing in two weeks time. He's pretty optimistic but that's the person he is. When he gets back on the field it'll be the Craig Moore of old, no doubt."

Good luck to the big man. I remember his few games for Crystal Palace before Rangers took him back to help us out of a financial spin. Craig is a real pro and deserves the best. Good luck to him and his family in beating the illness.
Good luck craig and well done Alex and Craig for your comments. Good to see the common and sometimes regretfully stupid rivalry shoved aside at a time like this.
i hope u beat mate from a rangers fan.

Yeah echo that Alex all the best hated you as player but respected you as a man and hope you beat it...
Good luck from a lifelong Celtic supporter, you are in our thoughts
