Premier League - Lampard anger at Arsenal goal slight

FOOTBALL 2007-2008 Premier League - Frank Lampard and Andriy Shevchenko, Chelsea - 0

The Ivory Coast ace is on the sidelines after undergoing knee surgery last weekend. Without him Chelsea's Champions League game with Valencia on Tuesday finished goalless.

The Blues take on rivals Arsenal on Sunday at The Emirates, but Lampard is not worried about a lack of sources for goals.

"Where are the goals going to come from? Where do you want me to start?" he said.

"Joe Cole, [Andriy] Shevchenko, [Shaun] Wright-Phillips, [Salomon] Kalou and myself. Is that enough for you?

"The goals didn't come against Valencia, but the chances we created and the way played throughout the game was very, very good."

Lampard added that he was looking forward to the London derby.

"Arsenal is a massive game for us," he acknowledged. "They've obviously slipped up a little bit in the last couple of games, which happens to everyone, so it's a great opportunity for us to get there and there and try and close the gap.

"We are missing big players, particularly Didier up front, but they are potentially missing [Cesc] Fabregas."

Meanwhile, Shevchenko had no complaints about being whipped off early against Valencia on Tuesday as there was nothing riding on the game.

The Ukraine international has helped fill the void vacated by Drogba's absence and is hoping to start Sunday's mouth-watering trip.

"It was the manager's decision to take me off. I think it was important that everyone played in a game which was not so vital," he said.

"For me it is important when the manager gives me a chance to play. I can then prepare myself to give my best.

"I don't know if I will play on Sunday - it is up to the manager. But I feel good and I hope to play because it's a very important game.

"I try to play every game to my best [ability] and always work hard for the team. It was the same in my first season and now my second season.

"Every game I feel that I am getting better."
