Imps boss hopes for festive cheer

Sat 13 Dec, 02:00 PM

Lincoln City boss Peter Jackson hopes his team's second-half comeback will kick-start their season after beating Accrington Stanley 5-1.The hosts went into the game on Friday night without a win in seven matches and looked to be heading for another defeat when they went in behind at half-time to John Miles' long-range strike.

But Jackson made three changes at the break and the Imps tore into Accrington in the second half, with Adrian Patulea (2), Aaron Brown, Ben Wright and Lee Frecklington on target.

"I was bitterly disappointed with the first half, it was rubbish. I really got into my players during the break and I got the right reaction," Jackson said.

"I brought the three subs on because I thought we needed a lift and they certainly gave us a lift.

"We knew we needed to have a good Christmas and this gives us a big boost. Hopefully it will change our season."
