Captain calls for Wolves to unite

Mon 14 Jan, 10:30 AM

Skipper Karl Henry has pleaded for patience from Wolves supporters and insists the players are determined to get their season back on track.Saturday's 3-0 defeat at home to Crystal Palace means Mick McCarthy's side are now eight Championship games without a win - their last league victory coming over Preston in December.

That sequence of results has seen Wanderers slide from automatic promotion hopefuls to 12th in the table, four points off the play-off places.

But Henry is confident he and his team-mates can turn it around.

He told the club's official website: "We know that the supporters aren't happy - we're not. But we have to stick together. We are confident that we can turn things round and it certainly isn't through a lack of effort that we have had such a bad run.

"Certainly we aren't going to quit and call it a 'nothing season'. We can still get something out of it. Despite the results recently we are still only four points behind the play-off positions."
