Rotherham striker Derek Holmes believes the goalscoring experience of manager Mark Robins has helped him improve his game this season.Holmes scored a hat-trick as the Millers continued their League Two promotion push with a 3-1 win at Lincoln.

He told the Sheffield Star: "The gaffer knew all about scoring goals and he got his fair share from close range. He's been working with us on various things and it's paying off.

"He's worked hard on the strikers. We've worked hard and we have gelled."

"I happened to get in the right place at the right time but we have been working at it and it's only my second hat-trick.

Despite missing six weeks of the season with a broken toe, the 29-year-old has scored 11 goals this term for the Millers.
