Barcelona (to face Celtic on Wednesday February 20th)

El Barça looked back to their best in beating Real Murcia 4-0 at the Camp Nou, with former Arsenal hero Thierry Henry in inspired form. Cameroon striker Samuel Eto'o signed off with a brace before leaving for the African Cup of Nations after Eidur Gudjohnsen and Bojan Krkic had put the Catalan outfit 2-0 up. All this and Lionel Messi isn't even back from injury yet - Celtic beware.

Lyon (to face Manchester United on 20th)

Lyon moved six points clear at the top of Ligue 1 after recovering from a goal down to beat Toulouse 3-2. They went behind when defender Anthony Reveillere deflected a cross by Sweden forward Johan Elmander into his own net on eight minutes but equalised nine minutes later through Hatem Ben Arfa. Brazil midfielder Juninho put Lyon in front from a free-kick before Benzema added a third from the edge of the box. Toulouse reduced the arrears with a header in added time from Brazilian midfielder Fabinho.

Internazionale (to face Liverpool on Tuesday 19th)

While Liverpool could only draw with Middlesbrough, Inter maintained their seven-point gap at the top of the Serie A table with a 3-2 win over Siena. Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored a stunning strike from distance to add to his first-half penalty and the goal he set up for Esteban Cambiasso on the stroke of half-time. Massimo Maccarone had levelled for Siena on the half-hour with a tap-in, but by the time Argentinian striker Fernando Forestieri scored his first goal for the club in second-half injury-time, the points were already destined for the defending champions.

Milan (to face Arsenal on 20th)

Pato announced his arrival in Italy with a goal as Milan trounced Napoli 5-2 in their first game back after the winter break. The Brazilian teenager - ineligible for the first half of the season after joining from Internacional in the summer - started the match alongside legendary goal-getter Ronaldo, who scored a diving header to add to his contentious opener. The sublime Kaka netted a spectacular goal from 20 yards out while Clarence Seedorf also got on the scoresheet. Napoli did go in at the break on level terms, however, having come from behind twice through Roberto Sosa and a Maurizio Domizzi penalty.

Olympiacos (to face Chelsea on 19th)

Olympiacos' veteran 'keeper Andonis Nikopolidis saved a second-half penalty by Dimitris Papadopoulos to secure his side a 1-1 draw at home to fierce rivals Panathinaikos. Dame N'Doye put Panathinaikos ahead in the 15th minute before Olympiacos equalised on the stroke of half-time. Vasilis Torosidis appeared to impede Panathinaikos goalie Arkadiusz Malarz before Antzas squirted the loose ball over the line from close range. Olympiacos are second, a point behind their other Athens rivals AEK and one ahead of their opponents.
