Premier League - Injury blows for United

Eurosport - Wed, 14 Jan 07:03:00 2009

Manchester United have been dealt a blow with the news that defenders Patrice Evra and Rio Ferdinand have been sidelined by injury.

FOOTBALL 2008 Manchester United Evra - 0

Rock-solid left-back Evra has been ruled out for three weeks with a foot injury, while Rio Ferdinand is still struggling with the same back problem that kept him out of the victory over Chelsea on Sunday.

It is a particularly cruel blow for Evra, since he had only just returned to the team after serving the four-match ban which he received for his part in a post-match fracas at Stamford Bridge last season.

Evra had earlier dedicated the Chelsea victory to the FA, with tongue firmly in cheek, before going on to add that at least he had enjoyed the opportunity to go on holiday with his family.

  2. All you non MAN U supporters, why do youll live in such a dream world. dont youll know that MAN has no compotition from anyone else. the only reason they lose some games is because they need someone to play at the end. and as for anyone who thinks that Rafa is better than SAF, plaese wake up and look at facts. Because Rafa decided to attack SAF, chelsea fealt the burn. imagine what SAF will do to Liverpool if he gets provoked any further. Rafa is not even the skin under SAF's big toe

  8. for the first 5 years in charge of EPL SAF won nothing for MUFC, but benitez already have Top spot in EPL, 3 times semi final CL,1 FA cup, 1 CL cup, 1 super cup, 1 League cup and all this with much low financial budget than the SAF. You can see clearly from this fact who is a better manager. Wake up all you Manuions. For sure Rafa is very far ahead of SAF.

  13. Benitas is no Keegen and that's a fact and as you were not listening he did nothing more than put facts on the table and like most in football we all had a dam good laugh, you miss the point saying that will spur you on,if anything it may affect one match and that's the return at OT and one more thing if you need comments like that to spur you on you really are having trouble up there but it would be good for the game if the title was spread out a little more and this year has shown us that their must be 6 or 7 teams in with a shout should anyone falter and that can only be good for the game....
