Sheffield Wednesday teenager Mark Beevers has underlined his confidence that the Owls will escape relegation from the Championship this season.The 18-year-old, recently rewarded with a new four-year contract, has been one of the few shining lights in a disappointing season for Wednesday, who have won just two of their last 13 league matches.

Beevers, a contender for the Wickes Apprentice of the Season award, said: "We've been in this position before and got out of it and there's no reason why we can't do it again.

"We can build on Tuesday's draw with Charlton, which we felt we should have won. We've got the players to climb the table.

"We just feel if we can get a win we'll put some decent performances together.

"We always go out with our heads up and try to play and with a bit more luck results will turn in our favour."
