Mansfield Town boss Billy Dearden has missed out on signing Doncaster Rovers defender Graeme Lee, who has joined Hartlepool United on loan.Dearden had been tracking the 29-year-old for weeks but Lee has moved to Victoria Park, where he began his career as a trainee in the mid-1990s.

"I am disappointed that we have not been able to get Graeme in here as he would have been ideal for us," Dearden told the club's official website. "But these things happen in football."
