Brighton have cut their payments to agents by almost £15,000 according to the latest Football League report. The Seagulls paid out a total of £22,940 to agents during the period July 1 to December 31, ranking them just the 15th highest spenders in League One.

"Ultimately, to be competitive in the transfer market we have to be realistic about paying fees to agents," said chairman Dick Knight.

"However, it's important we get the balance right and ensure the club gets value for money when dealing with agents.

"These figures cover a period in which we made serious improvements to the squad and represent a justified investment."
