Glenn Whelan has tipped his Stoke team-mates to continue their fine run of form and clinch top spot in the Championship on Friday night.The Potters have lost only once in their last 16 league outings and are looking to record a fourth consecutive win when they welcome Scunthorpe to the Britannia Stadium.

"We have the chance to go top, and we are absolutely determined to make that happen," Whelan told the club's official website.

"Since I have been here we have played Cardiff, Wolves and Southampton and picked up maximum points.

"We managed to hold our nerve and we played well. We made it hard work for ourselves on Tuesday, but we got ourselves up and running again and got a vital three points."
