BOSTON, Massachusetts (AFP) - Boston star Ray Allen will replace injured Washington player Caron Butler for the All Star Game this weekend in New Orleans, the NBA said on Thursday.
Meanwhile, Kobe Bryant, the MVP at the last All Star Game, was rated doubtful on Thursday because of an injury to the little finger of his right hand.
The Los Angeles Lakers player underwent an examination on Wednesday and will now consult with doctors before a definite decision is made on his participation in Sunday's game.
Bryant scored 29 points in the Lakers 117-92 win over Minnesota on Wednesday but didn't play in the last quarter. Allen will be playing in his eighth All Star Game after being named as a replacement for Butler who has a hip injury.
