Craig Pickering does not believe Dwain Chambers should have been allowed back from his drugs ban to threaten his place at next month's World Indoor Championships.
The European silver medallist has been left to battle Simeon Williamson for one 60metres berth in the Great Britain team for the meeting in Valencia after Chambers stormed to victory in last weekend's trials.
Chambers, who returned from a two-year doping ban in 2006, was reluctantly selected by UK Athletics amid the threat of legal action if he was excluded.
UKA announced on Wednesday they were to launch a commission to look into changing their rules to prevent a repeat of the current controversy - and Pickering, 21, hopes it leads to a total ban on drugs cheats.
"I do not welcome Chambers back but it is out of my control. I just have to get on with things," he told The Sun.
"He's come back and I can't stop that but perhaps the punishment should be harsher.
"Is two years long enough? It should be a life ban. Why should you be allowed back once you've cheated."
Chambers served a two-year ban for taking the performance-enhancing drug THG.
