Barnsley have completed the loan of West Bromwich Albion goalkeeper Luke Steele.
Reds manager Simon Davey moved for Steele to provide cover for Tony Warner, on loan himself for the season from Fulham after regular number one Heinz Muller was crocked recently.
The giant German will be missing for several months.
Steele will make his debut for the Oakwell club on Saturday at Anfield in the FA Cup fifth-round clash against Liverpool as Warner featured in the competition for Fulham earlier this season and so is cup-tied.
Steele, 23, joined the Baggies from Manchester United in 2006 and competes with Michal Danek to be back-up for Dean Kiely.
Barnsley have won their appeal against Lewin Nyatanga's sending off at Plymouth in midweek, meaning he is spared a two-game suspension.
