GARMISCH-PARTENKIRCHEN, Germany, Feb 14 (Reuters) - Norwegian Aksel Lund Svindal ended the run of world championships upsets by retaining his title in the super combined on Monday.
Svindal was more than one minute faster than his rivals over the two legs consisting of a downhill and slalom.
Italian Christof Innerhofer was second, collecting his third medal of the championships following his gold in Super G and bronze in downhill. His compatriot Peter Fill won bronze.
It was Svindal's fourth career world title while the Swiss continued their unhappy championships by finishing out of the medals.
