Europa League - Carroll the hero as Olympiacos beat Rubin
Substitute Roy Carroll saved a late penalty to preserve a 1-0 win for Olympiacos in a Europa League last-32 first leg against Rubin Kazan.
The former Manchester United man came off the bench after Balazs Megyeri saw red for bringing down Gokdeniz Karadeniz on 73 minutes.
The Northern Irishman made a diving stop to keep out Natcho's spot-kick and Olympiacos held out for a precious away win in a match played at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow, some 500 miles from Kazan.
Carroll's moment of glory came on 76 minutes, just five minutes after David Fuster struck the game's only goal, firing low through a sea of legs after Rubin failed to clear a corner adequately.

Good keeper who has had a rough time. All the best Roy!!
thumbs up if you clicked this story thinking it was about ANDY Carroll!!!!!!
I thought Liverpool had done a quickie offloading deal to Olympiacos when I read the headline.
funny how Eriks gets thumbed down for no reason.. while Andrew insults Carrol almost to the point of wish him dead and no one seems to worry ... lol ...
good ol' Carroll at least left the country and tries to play in a different league no matter what reason...
Old Sucker Lips! The Bottom Feeder! thought he'd died or something!?
haha still remember the "goal that never was" against tottenham in 2005.
So nice job Roy Carroll, who ever you are!
lol what an epic fail my comment is ;DDDDDDDDDDD
I didn't even look at the article before commenting! ;DDDD

I saw the headline and didn't believe it, but now it makes sense! ;)
