Wolves chief executive Jez Moxey insists club owner Steve Morgan's dressing-room outburst after the home defeat by Liverpool earlier this month did not contribute to Mick McCarthy's downfall as manager.
McCarthy made it clear he was unhappy that Morgan vented his feelings towards the players in the aftermath of the Reds' 3-0 win at Molineux.
But, when asked if that had any bearing on McCarthy's sacking just 12 days later, Moxey said: "Honestly no. Mick wasn't happy with it and he said so.
"It's not football protocol for a chairman or an owner to go into the dressing room. That's why you'll never find me there.
"But you know what - he's the owner and he can do what he wants. If an owner who is putting his money in wants to do it, he can go and do what he wants.
"We had a staff meeting the following day where I believe we cleared the air and Mick and Steve had the same relationship they had before he (Morgan) went into the dressing room."

I wonder if Jeremy Peace would care to advise Moxey and Morgan on who would be the best candidate. Changing De'Mateo for Hodgson when Baggies were in the bottom 4 last season was a master stroke that Wolves board would never have seen.
No 1 Ron.J. You have hit the nail right on the head mate. I have been saying ever since he started the ground development that it was not the time. They need to be established in the prem first and they are years away from that yet. Baggies are far nearer to becoming established in the prem than wolves.
Yeah, right, and pigs fly, yeah!
whether Morgans best place was in the Boardroom or the Dressingroom is not relevant. whether more money should have been spent on buying players than on building new Stands is. Morgans mentality dosent belong in the Prem.
