Ambrose out to cut down Town

Fri 14 Mar, 06:00 PM

Charlton midfielder Darren Ambrose insists there will be "no time for niceties" when he faces his former club Ipswich on Saturday. The Addicks travel to Portman Road to face their promotion rivals looking to boost their play-off hopes, and Ambrose admitted that despite his fond memories, he will only have three points on his mind during the match.

He told the club's official website: "I loved my time there, I was there from the age of 11, but hopefully I can put one over them at the weekend.

"It will be good to see them all and before the game I'll say hello, but that will be about it until after the game, because I'll be concentrating on getting a win for Charlton.

"We're desperate for the three points because if Ipswich win, they'll be level on points with us with a game in hand.

"Hopefully I can go out, put on a good performance and get a couple of goals."
