Motherwell newcomer Bob Malcolm will relish the stick he receives from the Celtic fans if he makes his home debut on Saturday. And the former Rangers player is glad he will have the "frantic" Well fans on his side after finding Fir Park a tough place to go as an Old Firm player.
The versatile player believes his new team can take something from the champions despite the disappointment of Wednesday's 1-0 SPL defeat by Hibernian.
Malcolm said: "I'm expecting some stick but it's all part of the game, it's what makes the game so exciting. I will just get on with it.
"We have beaten Celtic in the past so I don't see any reason why we shouldn't beat them on Saturday.
"They had a disappointing result so they will be looking to get back on track and so will we, so it should be an exciting game."
Malcolm admits Fir Park can be an intimidating place for an Old Firm player.
"It was always one of the hardest places to go, with the slope as well and the fans are frantic," he said. "Hopefully they will be on our side this week."
Well lost third place in the SPL on Wednesday when they lost 1-0 to Hibernian as Dundee United were securing a point at Celtic.
Hibs moved two points behind the Steelmen in the hunt for Europe and Malcolm appreciates they cannot afford more defeats in the four games to come against Hibs and United.
But he has not written off the remaining five matches against Rangers and Celtic.
"It's vital that we pick up points against these teams, obviously," Malcolm said.
"No-one will be expecting us to beat the Old Firm so against Hibs, Dundee United and anyone else that gets into the top six, we need to beat teams like this to get into Europe.
"But we ourselves think we can take points off the Old Firm."
Malcolm played out of position at right-back in his debut at Easter Road in place of Paul Quinn, who serves the second game of a two-match ban against Celtic.
The 27-year-old admitted he was not up to full speed after being released by Derby in January after a loan spell at QPR, but he believes he can quickly catch up.
He added: "I wasn't expecting 80 minutes but I got it and we will see what happens on Saturday.
"It was quick - it's quicker than it is down south but you have just got to bed yourself back in and get on with it.
"I was just glad to get the game under my belt and I will take it on to Saturday.
"After you get the first game under your belt it is a bit easier to kick on. I had not played for six or seven weeks."
