Defensive dilemma for Robins

Fri 14 Mar, 03:15 PM

Rotherham boss Mark Robins will be forced into making at least one change to his side for the local derby against play-off rivals Chesterfield.Left-back Joe Widdowson has returned to West Ham following his month-long loan spell. With Stephen Brogan out for the rest of the season with a broken leg, Robins will be forced into a defensive reshuffle.

Adrian Pettigrew, who is on loan from Chelsea, could be recalled while another option available to Robins could be to play Pablo Mills in defence.

Tom Cahill has returned to Millmoor after his loan spell at Altrincham and he will be hoping to be involved.

The cash-strapped Yorkshire club, who have served notice of intention to appoint an administrator, are in danger of seeing their promotion dreams go up in smoke after seven defeats in their last 10 matches.

But Robins is refusing to use the club's off-field problems as an excuse for their dismal run, and said: "Whatever the situation, wherever you are in the table, you can't go out and not give your all. You have got to do your job, run and work. We can't use that (financial problems) as an excuse."
