Freedman set for fulls Leeds debut

On-loan striker Dougie Freedman could make his first start for Leeds when his play-off chasing side travel to Vale Park to take on Port Vale.Freedman, who arrived from Crystal Palace last week, stepped off the bench in the midweek home defeat to Cheltenham.

Leeds manager Gary McAllister, who has no new injury or suspension problems, could also recall midfielder Andy Hughes to his starting line-up.

Hughes returned to the squad against Bournemouth last week and came off the bench again on Tuesday night after missing two matches with a knee injury.

Skipper Jonathan Douglas returned to full training last week following knee ligament damage which has kept him out since December, but he is still some way off a return to first-team action.

Anthony Elding is pushing for a place in the starting line-up after scoring his first Leeds goal against Cheltenham.
