Gillingham manager Mark Stimson has hinted he may hand striker Gary Mulligan a starting spot in the relegation six-pointer against Crewe.Mulligan impressed Stimson after coming off the bench in Tuesday's 2-1 defeat at Doncaster and could have done enough to earn a first start since the 1-0 win over Huddersfield last month.
If Mulligan was selected he might get the nod ahead of Delroy Facey or line up alongside the well-travelled striker.
Stimson is boosted by no new injury problems but is still without centre-back Danny Cullip (hamstring) and Garry Richards (banned) while Mark Bentley (Achilles) is unlikely to recover in time.
Richards, however, will be available again for selection for the home clash with Bournemouth a week on Saturday after completing a three-game suspension.
The Gills, who were 3-2 victors at Crewe in December, go into the game winless in the last four but just a point behind their opponents with a game in hand.
