Pair set to return against Tigers

Fri 14 Mar, 11:30 AM

Jermaine Wright and Darren Powell could return to boost the Southampton squad ahead of Saturday's Championship trip to Hull.Midfielder Wright missed Tuesday night's win over Leicester with a hamstring injury and Powell has been out with calf trouble, but both will be handed late fitness checks by boss Nigel Pearson.

Goalkeeper Kelvin Davis is unlikely to return with a dislocated finger, and second-choice Bartosz Bialkowski is out after thumb surgery, so Michael Poke continues in goal with Andrej Pernecky, who does not turn 17 until next week, on the bench.

Andrew Davies is out for up to a month with a fractured cheekbone, fellow centre-half Ian Pearce has a back injury and midfielder Inigo Idiakez is not ready to return from hamstring trouble.

Striker Bradley Wright-Phillips is not in the squad due to disciplinary reasons.
