Friday's draw in Nyon, Switzerland has no seedings - and as such could pair any of the remaining four English sides together.
Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel is keen to avoid Manchester United above anyone else
January signing Skrtel made his UEFA Champions League debut against Internazionale, a last 16 tie his side won 3-0 on aggregate.
"We fulfilled what we were coming on the pitch with - we wanted to control the game, not to concede and try to create something", he told SITA. "Inter had some chances but I am glad we did not concede.
"In the second half then, Fernando [Torres] scored and after that we were controlling the game. In total it was a very difficult game and I am glad we are through now."
The former Zenit St Petersburg man thinks that Premier League is physically more difficult than the Champions League.
"In England the football is more based on strength, the teams play long-ball tactics more often and players go into challenges with a maximum commitment," he continued.
"Inter tried to produce a passing game and mainly Zlatan Ibrahimovic was very tough. His qualities are well-known to everyone, there is not much more to be said about it."
The 23-year-old Skrtel is not going to watch the Friday's Champions League draw live but hopes Liverpool could face Schalke.
"Half of the teams are from England, which shows a big quality," he added. "I think that this has confirmed not only my statements from the past, but statements of all other people, that the Premier League is the best league in the world.
"In my opinion, this year an English team will win the competition and of course I would be very glad if we were the team.
"Most likely I will not watch the Friday's draw, I will see it afterwards on the internet and my father will definitely tell me its result.
"It is difficult to say which of the teams I wish to play against and which I don't. I would be most happy if we avoided Manchester United or on the contrary, we might play Schalke."
