Treviso win thriller

2006 winners Sisley Treviso edged out defending champions Friedrichshafen in a thriller to reach the Champions League Final Four.

The Italians lost the first leg 3-2 and the Germans then took the opening set of the second leg before Treviso levelled matters by taking the next two sets 25-23 25-20.

Friedrichshafen took the fourth set 26-24 but the hosts won the decider 15-12 to level the match at five sets apeice and they edged the tie on points 210-207.

Dinamo-Tattransgaz Kazan and Copra Piacenza had already joined Skra Bechatów in the Final Four.

The Russians completed a 6-1 aggregate victory over Cannes while the Italians saw Panathinaikos level things at 3-3 before taking the final three sets 25-21 25-20 15-13.

The Final Four will be played in Lodz on March 29-30.

On the women's side, 2006 champions Sirio Perugia and fellow Italians Asystel Novara have joined hosts Murcia in April's Final Four.

Both collected the single sets they needed to down Vini Monteschiavo Jesi and Voléro Zurich respectively.

Russia's Zarechie Odintsovo complete the line-up after a 5-4 aggregate success over Dela Martinus Amstelveen.
