Norway's Lars Berger wins the men's 10km race in Vancouver ahead of compatriot Ole Einer Bjorndalen, while Sweden's Helen Jonsson takes the women's race.
Jonsson's time of 19 minutes 43.6 seconds beat Germany's six-times world champion Magdaelena Neuner into second with 19:44.3.
Russian Olga Zaitseva - who also scored top marks in the shooting - was third in 19:45.2.
"It is a huge surprise for me to be on top of World Cup standings," Jonsson (pictured right) said afterwards.
"It's the kind of thing you dream about it."
Jonsson's victory allowed her to take the overall World Cup lead from Kati Wilhelm of Germany, who finished eighth, leading the standings with 780 points to Wilhelm's 764.
Neuner is third with 723 points.
The men's 10km individual sprint was taking place later in the day.
