Scunthorpe boss Nigel Adkins is already planning to challenge for an immediate return to the Championship next season.Scunthorpe were condemned to an immediate return to League One following the weekend defeat at Crystal Palace, but manager Adkins insists lessons have been learned.
He said: "We have got an average age of 22, there is only one player out of contract in the summer and we are actively trying to sort that out.
"We want to give ourselves an opportunity so we can learn the experiences from this year and then come back stronger next year - giving a good account of ourselves so we can challenge again to try and get back into the Championship.
"We have got three games left to go and we want to try our best to win the three games.
"You will turn around and say you have got one eye on next season because you have got to keep building."
