Burnley manager Owen Coyle aims to bolster his squad with a summer recruitment drive as he prepares for a concerted promotion bid next season.The Clarets' play-off challenge has faltered in recent weeks with four defeats in their last five outings almost certain to deny them a play-off spot.

Coyle, however, is already looking ahead to strengthening his squad during the close-season.

He said: "We'll freshen up in the summer, we'll bring the right personnel in to compliment the quality we have and if we do that we'll be a force to be reckoned with.

"The search has already started. We knew we were papering over the cracks.

"We know we need players to come in to enhance what we've got and we'll do that and take this club on."
