Northampton defender Gabor Gyepes admits it was good to be back playing again following Saturday's 1-1 draw at promotion-chasing Southend.The 26-year-old returned to the side following a hamstring injury and is now keen to earn himself a new contract at Sixfields.

"I missed a couple of games with a hamstring injury but thankfully it wasn't a serious injury and it was good to be back on Saturday," he told the club's official website.

"I am really enjoying my time here but I would love to play in the Championship again at some stage. Maybe that could be with Northampton."

The Cobblers have an option in their favour to extend Gyepes' current deal.
