Sheffield United have extended Reading defender John Halls' loan spell until the end of the season.The 26-year-old arrived at Bramall Lane in the middle of last month and has made two starts and a substitutes' appearance for Kevin Blackwell's side.

Halls has found himself out of the first-team picture at the Madejski Stadium this season and completed loan stints at Preston and Crystal Palace before joining the Blades.

He will remain with United until after the Championship play-offs just in case Blackwell's side snatch a place in the top six.
