Inter Milan coach Roberto Mancini insists his side will remain on the front foot as the Serie A season enters its final five games. The league leaders replied to Roma's win earlier on Sunday to restore their four-point advantage at the top of the table thanks to a 2-0 home win over Fiorentina.
Goals from Esteban Cambiasso and Mario Balotelli in the second half earned Inter another crucial three points which keep them in the driving seat. But according to Mancini, just one error would throw the title race wide open.
"We are four points ahead, but if we lose just one game, that advantage is practically gone," he told Sky.
"There are five games to go and we have got to continue along this road, knowing that each game is full of its own difficulties.
"But it depends on us entirely and we cannot think of what is going on behind us, but must try and win every game."
Inter took advantage of Fiorentina's tiredness to win on Sunday just three days after the Viola had eliminated PSV Eindhoven from the UEFA Cup.
However, Fiorentina coach Cesare Prandelli would not trade his side's march into the UEFA Cup semi-finals for anything, even if it has affected the condition of his team.
"I think tonight is something like our 50th game of a fantastic season," he said.
"I could have made different choices during the season which may have seen us already out of tournaments, but I have got to thank my players for their commitment.
"We knew we would pay something for playing on Thursday, but all my players wanted to play again. And when you have a team which is so convinced they can play, it is a great situation as a coach.
"It is going to be difficult to keep it up, but I am delighted with what we have done."
With AC Milan, Sampdoria and Udinese all losing at the weekend, Fiorentina remain on course for a place in the Champions League.
They hold a four-point advantage over the Rossoneri with five games remaining, three of which are at their Artemio Franchi home.
Prandelli would have certainly accepted such a scenario at the start of the season, and he is now eager to make the most of it.
"These players are doing far more than many people really expected and now we will fight to the end to obtain an important position," he added.
