McCann targets strong finish

Mon 14 Apr, 03:00 PM

Burnley midfielder Chris McCann has urged his side to end their campaign on a high despite their almost certain failure to reach the play-offs.The Clarets slumped to their fourth defeat in five games last weekend as Sheffield United ran out 2-1 winners at Turf Moor.

That has left them seven points adrift of the top six with only three games remaining but McCann is remaining positive.

He said: "We're going to keep going. We don't want the season just to whimper out.

"There are still three games left and nine points to play for and we're going to give our all to win those games."
