Odejayi grateful for support

Mon 14 Apr, 01:15 PM

Barnsley's Kayode Odejayi has expressed his thanks for the overwhelming support he received following his Wembley miss against Cardiff. The big striker fluffed a gilt-edged chance to fire a second-half equaliser in the Tykes' FA Cup semi-final, but silenced his critics by bouncing back with two goals in his side's shock win at Watford three days later.

Odejayi said: "There's been so much support. Obviously my family, my girlfriend and her family, the family I've got here at Barnsley - all the lads have been brilliant - the management, the fans, everyone involved.

"Old family friends, people from my parents' church, people from our old church we used to go to, everyone at the club, Martin Tyler stopped off before the game (against Watford) and I've had calls from people at the PFA.

"There's just so many people and I hope I haven't forgotten to mention anyone because they've all been brilliant.

"Pete the mind coach who's down here too. It's down to everyone, so thanks for all the support and hopefully we can go well until the end of the season and get the results we need."
