Simpson positive on Shrews future

Mon 14 Apr, 03:30 PM

Shrewsbury manager Paul Simpson believes that the 3-0 victory over doomed Wrexham on Sunday is a step in the right direction for the club.Kevin McIntyre, Darren Moss and James Constable got the goals at New Meadow to move the Shrews nine points clear of the relegation zone.

Although the Shrews have virtually secured their League Two safety, Simpson insists there is still a lot of work to do.

He said: "We were better at Morecambe on Tuesday, and we carried on that improvement, but were more positive.

"I'm not going to stand here and say that's the end of the problems, but we are showing signs of getting better and Moss and McIntyre were superb in midfield."
