GOALKEEPERS

Choose 'em: With Manuel Almunia injured and Arsenal the only team yet to concede at home in the competition this season, Lukasz Fabianski (1.5m) looks a shoe-in.

Edwin van der Sar (6m) was rested for Manchester United's 2-1 win at Sunderland, so should be raring to go at Porto. However, if you fancy the Dragons to finish the job they started at Old Trafford, then Helton (6.5m) isn't a bad price either.

Lose 'em: Liverpool may well be equipped to score the three goals they require at Stamford Bridge, but in doing so they will be leaving Jose Reina (12m) exposed, so a clean sheet is unlikely for the Spaniard. His opposite number Petr Cech (20m) is just too darn expensive for a goalkeeper.

DEFENDERS

Choose 'em: Rafa Benitez has taken to playing Andrea Dossena (6.5m) further upfield recently, and the Italian could well pop up with a goal at the Bridge.

Arsenal are missing William Gallas and Johan Djourou at the heart of their defence, so the experienced Mikael Silvestre (2m) is sure to partner the pricey Kolo Toure (17m).

Porto's Bruno Alves (7.5m) may have handed Wayne Rooney (30m) a goal on a plate in the first leg, but he scored a cracking free-kick at the weekend and may be worth a look if you fancy United to stumble.

Lose 'em: Barcelona's Rafael Marquez (8m) and Chelsea's John Terry (28m) are both suspended.

MIDFIELDERS

Choose 'em:Cristiano Ronaldo (35m) may have only scored once in Europe this season, but he's fired more shots on goal than anyone else (48, since you ask) so he still picks up plenty of points.

Q - Who is the only outfield player to have played every minute of the competition thus far?

A - Arsenal's Denilson (5m). You could do worse than go for him, or do even better and pick up Theo Walcott (5m) at the same price.

Another dilemma comes in the form of Barcelona midfielders Andres Iniesta (36m) and Sergi Busquets (0.2m). Both look set to play against Bayern Munich, but one costs 180 times the price of the other.

Lose 'em: Chelsea's Michael Essien (25m) famously did a right number on Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard (36m) in the first leg, and those two are likely to cancel each other out again at the Bridge.

Manchester United's Anderson (19m) will be facing his former club should he feature, but most of his tireless endeavour is not fantasy-point friendly.

FORWARDS

Choose 'em: He may cost an absolute packet, but Lionel Messi (45m) is in a rich vein of form at the moment, even by his high standards. Even if Bayern make a decent fist of reducing their four-goal deficit, the little Argentine is bound to do some damage. However, if you want another potent threat at half the price, then the rejuvenated Thierry Henry (26m) is your boy.

Fernando Torres (30m) has scored five times in as many appearances against Chelsea, and is sure to get amongst the goals should Liverpool achieve the impossible.

For the true gamblers among you, Manchester United's man of the moment Federico Macheda (0.105m) is an obscenely cheap price for somebody who Alex Ferguson will have no qualms about throwing on should he need to at Porto.

Lose 'em: Villarreal's goal-scoring record against Premier League opposition is abysmal, and Nihat Kahveci (13m) looked really out of sorts in the 2-0 defeat to Malaga at the weekend.

Bayern's Luca Toni (20m) did not have a good game during the mauling in Barcelona, and with Carles Puyol (16m) expected to return to the side the Italian will have another stern test on his hands.

  3. Nobody at Eurosport thinks Chelsea can win?

I think people can get plenty of points off Carvalho/Alex/Ivanovic/Cole. Just pick one of the four.

Malouda and Kalou have been doing brilliantly recently, and Ballack's discovering something close to form again, even if people think Lampard is too expensive.

Just because Liverpool have to score 3 doesn't mean they will. They might not even score one. Liverpool players are far more of a gamble than Chelsea players if you ask me.

The entire Liverpool 10 crowds the Chelsea box, then Carvalho steals it and places a long ball to Drogba to set up a one-on-one.

That, my friends, is more likely to happen than Liverpool scoring 3 when a barely fit Gerrard will be marked out of the game by Essien again, starving Torres of the supply he needs against a team like Chelsea.

Chelsea have never conceded 3 at home in the CL, and after Abramovich came, Chelsea have never conceded 3 or more goals at home without scoring as many themselves.

The only really safe players to pick come from Barcelona.
